Orgatec 2016’s theme was ‘Creativity works – new visions of work’ and certainly lived up to the expectations set.
With around 670 exhibitors and over a dozen different halls exhibiting everything from furnishings, lighting and flooring to technological innovation, it was an international furniture mecca. It attracted over 56,000 designers, architects and industry professionals from over 118 countries.
ECF’s Managing Director, Simon Bilalis was one of the 56,000 attendees and was excited by what he saw. “This is an incredible trade fair of immense size and is the place where trends are set for the industry” said Simon. “ECF currently has an excellent range of Australian and International products but it is important that we keep abreast of technological advances and trends within the industry so we can offer our clients innovative solutions” Technological innovation was demonstrated throughout Orgatec with an array of products for the modern office environment and numerous furniture pieces demonstrating sophisticated integration of technology.
The collaborative workspace and the importance of employees’ well-being were also predominant themes.
One stand out for ECF was Sedus who invited visitors on a Discovery Tour. The stand created an attractive atmosphere of well-being, was inspired by Nature and designed working in close collaboration with leading lighting designers ‘Consuline’ in Milan and the Zurich- based architecture and design company ‘Evolution Design’. New products included the se: do swivel chair, se: line conference chair, se: wall moveable wall and screen system and the se: works lounge furniture. All of these products and the other items in the Sedus range are available from ECF.
Orgatec 2016 definitely didn’t disappoint and was well and truly worth the visit. See you again in 2 years!
